Baby's sick

After returning form our holiday, baby fell ill the next day. I have no idea how she fell ill. Probably the change in weather, or from the aircraft which had no ventilation when transiting. But after 8 months since she was born, she finally fell ill. She had fever, not high, for 3 days and now the spots are appearing all over the body just as the doctor predicted. Now i understand why my colleague is so afraid of her son falling ill. Because baby has become soo attention seeking, soo whining and super mang zhang, and keep waking at night.. sigh.. Hope this doesn't continue after she's well. Thank God I took 1 week leave before starting the new job cos now, she doesn't want to drink from the bottle! and my milk supply is insufficient for her. THank God she started eating solids as well..
Despite that, now that her fever's gone, she's still able to smile, squeal and giggle.. little things that we live to hear.

Langkawi - 25th Aug ~ 28th Aug

You might be thinking, there must be a lot of things to pack on this trip especially when you are bringing a baby along. Yes, you are right. Ruthie's stuff took up 3/4 of a full size luggage! There are lots of food (Milk powder, puree, snacks etc), 1 pack of diapers, toys, medicine, you name you, we have it. A bit of a kiasu parent here, but you never know where you need it.

We set off with both grandparents seeing us, or rather, Ruthie off to the airport. Ruthie can be seen to be particularly excited that day. Maybe she does know something about all these big luggages and the packing.

Ruth is neither afraid nor having problem coping with the pressure difference. That's good. However she's having difficulties of not having enough space for her to roam about. She kept looking around, bouncing up and down, touching everything she could lay her hands on, a trademark of our energizer bunny, she just couldn't keep still.

-Daddy

It has been a week since we returned from the trip. Initial thoughts upon returning were" didn't seem that we got to relax"- more of taking care of baby, and " don't think it'll be any time soon we'll go for trips" . Indeed most of the schedule had to be fitted to baby's nap time to prevent her from being grouchy. But thank God that we booked a good hotel which gave us more incentive to stay in there more often. Any way there wasn't much to do in langkawi. However, thinking back 1 week after the trip, i did miss playing with baby in the pool, seeing her reactions and seeing her enjoying herself. It was worth it.

I shall relate accounts of the days spent according to my memory.

Day1

Baby's first flight on Malaysia Airlines. We got a front seat with a bassinet but no infant food. She slept on her way up in daddy's arms but when she woke up she was her " normal" self. Didn't seem to notice things were different or was not exceptionally grouchy because of the air pressure. Upon landing, she took it rather fine as well, distracted by toys or puffs. Arriving at Langkawi airport, we were greeted by hounds of car rental agencies but decided to rent from town as we would get a better deal.

Could not ask for more from Westin and cannot imagine staying in other hotels which might not be as baby friendly. After her nap, we walked to Jetty point which was 15 mins walk from the hotel and baby in the pram. Took some photos, had dinner and rented a car for 4 days. We retired early after bathing baby in the sink. All 4 nights were challenging as baby kept waking up 3-4 times, due to unfamilar surroundings and maybe from playing too much during the day.

Day2

For breakfast, in order to keep baby occupied and so that we could eat more peacefully, we fed her the buffet's porridge and mashed up papaya. We then headed towards the cable car annd waterfall however it was under maintainence and the waterfall route was no place for an infant. As there was no car seat, baby was standing on the back seat holding on to the front head rest, jumping up and down. One way to entertain her. We went back to the hotel and baby took her first swim:). SHe didn't seem anxious or frightened. Just wanted to play with water and in fact had no awareness of danger. But she truely enjoyed herself and was very happy during her first swim though it was only 30mins. After getting out of the pool, we will always swaddle her with the pool towel and she would lie on the bench motionless. Quite a funny sight. Dinner was at the hotel's restaurant and was EXPENSIVE. But for convinence sake, we ate there.

1st swim

Day 3

Was spent mainly at the hotel. Took a late morning and late afternoon swim with naps in between. Couldn't swim in the afternoon as the sun was scorching hot.

Day 4

Didn't do much. AFter breakfast, baby had her morning nap then it was time to leave.

Looking foward to the next holiday with baby:)

Changes

In a blink of the eye, baby is already 7mths and she's started crawling but very clumsily. We would put her toy a distance from her and see her stretch and kick and do the leopard crawl until she gets it. This new found skill has indeed kept her very busy. Trying to reach for every new thing she sees and when you take it away, she screams! so spoilt.. It's such a joy to see baby at each stage of her life and this stage to see her wriggling like a worm.

In the last 2 months, events happened very fast. Hubby in reservist, both of us going for interviews and being offered jobs. I have accepted my new job and forgo my masters for now. I do not know if that's the better choice but definitely i'll have more time and energy for the family and for another baby. The sacrifices of a mummy but it's all worth it.

Baby's first teeth

Baby has been blowing bubbles and sticking out her tongue for the last one or so. We guessed that probably her teeth were coming out or she probably learnt a new habit. Yesterday while I was breast feeding her, she bit me.. hard!! but that was also because she was trying to poo while feeding. And when i took a look at her lower jaw, true enough , she has 2 tiniwinnie teeth. YEah!!That calls for a celebration. So i called my in-laws, who came over half hour later to take a look, and called my parents and lovey hubby who was incamp. BUt i guess the teeth came out earlier than yesterday because 4,5, days ago while feeding her, i realised that she had a strong bite on the spoon. She didn't drool excessively, nor did she have fever nor was she more mang zhang than usual. She did eat slightly lesser than usual and some miraculous did happen as well. She slept through the night last night!!. I put her to bed at 930pm and 7pm when i woke up she was already awake. She probably woke at 6plus but didn'tscream for mummy. What a considerate little angel.
I have heard stories of how baby didn't sleep the entire night or had fever when they first teeth but baby is different. NOw, i just pray that she'll have a nice set of teeth like daddy if not will have to spend a bomb on them.

All by myself

Last week, we let baby sleep in her own room by herself. We did that for 4,5 days until she got a sore throat from probably screaming at night when she wakes up and the dry air from the fan. So she back in our room again. In fact, i doubt she even realises she's in her own room. She sleeps , wakes up for milk or comfort then sleeps again. Hopefully when she doesn't get up so often at night, we can put her in her room again. And pray by the time it won't be too late.

Baby's motor development is rather fast for her age as well, i think. Already she's rolling around so fast , standing, sitting with support. And she can never be still. She loveees to stand for some reason. Probably it makes her feel that we are not always looking down on her. She eats about anything we feed her also. But then again we haven't feed her much. Just 5,6, varieties of food. She loves new food and would usually ask for 2nd helping of it. But after eating the same food for a period of time, she would scream rejection. Needs variety. Just like mummy:)

Baby love

As baby grows, she's becoming more adorable, lovable and huggable. She responses more, smiles more and laughs more, especially when she's tired and especially towards daddy. As we become more accustomed to her habits and we are able to manage her better, I feel that we are able to love her and enjoy her more. Of course we still complain and grumble about her night habits and more recently her pooing, but generally it's such a joy to have her. It is my prayer that she will be a sunshine to whoever she meets and that she'll grow according to God's will.

First solid food feed

We decided to feed baby when she's 5months, contrary to what every other mother and baby books say to feed at 6 months. We decided to feed her as she was starting to look very intensely at our food, started to drool, wanting to grab it and her mouth moved everytime we ate. To put her out of her misery, we fed her cereal last sat. I heard stories of how babies spit out the cereal or refuse to eat it when they are first fed. We had to go to grandma's house that day so we brought 1 table spoon of cereal to feed her. But it was not enough! She would make noise wheneverwe paused to scoop the cereal from the bowl and when she finished the 1 table spoon, we fed her milk as it was not enough for her. So her next week progressed to 2 table spoon then 4 table spoon. She loves it! And it's such a joy to see her eating and her cute tiny mouth moving. LIke my hubby always say, watching a baby eat makes you hungry because of their slow mouth movement, like savoury every bit and drop. Can't wait to feed her more varieties of food.

We were considering to buy the PHilips 2 in1 steamer and blender at the Phillips fair, thinking that it would be half price or more. But it was only a $30 discount. Nevertheless, upon hearing our wanting for it, my dad bought it for us. Or rather he said" Never mind, let HER use. " I was thinking it is for us to use and for our convenince. Anything for the granddaughter.

Rolly Polly

Baby has learnt to roll 180 degrees. When ever we want to tire her out, just before her bed time, we will put her on the mattress and let her roll and roll, or just be on her tummy. Soo cute. Hopefully she'll roll herself to sleep in future.

Squeal!!

I love it when baby squeal, especially if she sees me or during playtime with me. Ibelieve her squealing means extremely delighted or excited. Or at least that's what i would like to think.

Lovey Hubby

It's such a blessing to have a hands on daddy who loves the kid so much and a supportive hubby. With the night feeds and pumping it really helps to pass the kid to someone when ever you are frustrated with her or just need a break. I guess he must have more patience than me cos he never fails to make her smile or laugh or go to sleep when she's fussy or upset. I can't imagine the single mums who have little support or those who have more than one kid to look after in addtionto being the sole bread winner. No wonder most of them I see are depressed or super stressed out. But defintely being a mom helps me empathise with them more. With such a wonderful hubby, I still have the chance to go out, do my things, shop and even study my masters, if they accept my application. I can't imagine how it will be when hubby goes on reservist for 3 whole weeks..

Work Work

This week, I have started 5 day work.
As the days passed from Monday to Friday, I can feel my energy level dropping, my eyes drooping, my brain stoning. It is really tiring with a job that starts at 8am and having to squeeze with the sardine packed mrt with a heavier than usual bag that contains milk bottles and pump. I guess that's what most average paid working mothers go through. I can't believe that my mom was a housewife, and she had a maid from almost the time I was born, and she gets to play her majhong, and she doesn't have to take public transport, and yet she complains and complains about how much she had sacrificed for us all the years that she wasn't working. But each to her own perception about motherhood.

For now, i cannot imagine being a stay home mother, facing the baby and the four walls. Probably when they kids become more mobile and they start going to school, it makes more sense to stay at home. And you would have some time of your own.
I didn't miss my girl as much as I thought I would. The only times I missed her are the travelling times to and from work and at the end of the day, rushing back to see her. And when I arrive home to greet her, she doesn't care!! No smiles, no coos and ahhss. Just a grouchy face and blank stares. What is this?!! And of course the rest of the time after work is spent with her, playing, putting her to sleep. Even though the time is limited, it is very much enjoyable.

Nowadays, her grabbing skills have advanced and she's reaching out more. Whenever we put our face close to her and talk to her, she'll put her hand in our mouths, touch our nose , pull my hair. She loves it when we talk softly beside her ear. Her expresssion is soo cute, one of listening intensely, smiling and cooing as though she understands what we are whispering about. She has also starting to lift her head whenever we put her on her tummy. Very cute position. We use it to tire her out before she sleeps and when we see that her head is slowly coming down, we turn her over.

Naturally there will be lesser couple time and own time. Whatever time I have with hubby is soo precious. Normally it's the travelling to and from work time since our offices are nearby. Nowadays i also shop online and they post the order to your home. Things online are much cheaper and it saves time and trouble. And there's soooo much cute baby stuff online. I always have to remind myself not to buy. My hubby will tell me she's not worth it. And I'll reason that the rest of our kids might not be girls, so I have to take this opportunity to dress her up. Moreover, this is the only time they will let us dress them.

Let me check your teeth . Say "AHH"

Daddy you got bad breath!!

Baby's room

We bought the wall decals from this shop at Katong shopping centre called Baby Meadows. I can't remember how many times we went there before we decided on these decals. 2, 3 ,times? Or rather before I decided on them. Initally we bought a wall divider which had pictures of soft toys on them. But after looking at their online catalog again and again and again, we went back to change and top up twice the price for these animal decals. Expensive cos it's Fisher Price and they are reusable as long as you peel it out nicely. My hubby and dad painted the green " grass" when I was in my 3rd trimester but we only pasted the animals when baby came out. Despite the price, I'm really glad we bought this cos baby seems very happy with it. I remember the first time when she began to stare at the different animals on the wall when she was about 2 months. Even now when we change her diaper on the single bed, she will look at the blue and red lizard on the wall and smile or talk to it.Or she'll be in her cot staring at the sleeping leopard.
Before I had baby, I used to think that all these wall decorations and toys were unnecessary and a waste of money. But I guess they do need it for stimulation, learning and to self-entertain. And nothing beats seeing your baby smiling and being happy:)

Shaven

We decided to shave baby's hair. not because the old wives tale of "hair will grow thicker" or the "hair will grow out nicer". BUt because she was sweating soo much and dirtying my floor with strands of fallen hair. To put her out of her misery, we went to KKH where they have a shop that shaves infant's hair and make it into a brush. Being cheapo parents we didn't make it into a brush, but at least we got to keep the hair. Now I can where pretty hats for her without her having to perspire soo much:)Don't know if she's gotten used to her new hair style but she was a bit more crankier than usual yesterday.

Thank God we went to KKH yesterday as they were having a baby's exhibition and had sales on baby products. We bought a Maclaren stroller at half price, $199, which hopefully can last her till 3, 4 years old. Unless she grows too tall and big for it. We also got a small tin of S26, something which they just produced recently. Initially we gave baby S26 but they sold only big tins. And because she drank only one feed of formula a day, we had to throw away the rest of the big tin once it soldified. Incidentally, our formula milk was running out so we got one tin free:). But I had to ask for it. They wanted to send us a free sample of the stage 2 milk when baby turned 6 months. No harm asking. We got a free sample of the stage 1 milk. Cheapo mummy. Baby has no problems switching brand of formula milk. I think she'll eat anything and everything just like daddy. Some how i prefer S26 cos hubby grew up drinking it and her turned out healthy, big and strong. Haha. We got pretty socks for her at KK as well. Cheaper than the retail shops.

Laugh and Cry

Laughing baby

After shaking her to sleep for about a month, her weight, the time and energy is wearing us out. We seeked the advise of 2 of our friends who also have infants and let her cry it out to sleep. Our friends let their babies cry for 30 mins in the cot and when they are tired they will fall asleep on their own. Since there was 2 out of 2 success rate, we decided to try. After 2 attempts of letting her cry for 3omins, she still had not fallen asleep on her own in the cot. And it pains our heart to see her cry so horribly. So instead of allowing her to cry for half hour, we let her cry for 5-10mins before carrying her and rocking her to sleep for another 5 mins. If we pick her up and she doesn't fall asleep after 5 mins we put her down again and let her cry. Much better than rocking, shaking her to sleep for 30-45 mins. Moreover, it's a bad habit and it was also stressful going on outings if she had to be rocked to sleep because we can't bring the sarong every where we go. It is not so stressful now on outings largely because of our perspective change. If she cries in public so be it, cos we know that she'll wear herself out and fall asleep soon. Instead of trying to pacify her and walking round and round the shopping malls trying to get her to sleep. If she's tired she'll fall asleep as soon as we pick her up. Probably because she's a girl that's why she needs some TLC before she sleeps. The 2 friends who advised us had baby boys. Either that or she's really stubborn, or needs a longer weaning off period from the shaking. Thank God for a mother in law who is willing to adjust to our method. Caring and discipling children needs consistency yah. Initially she commented that it seems really cruel to allow her to cry for so long. But after 2 days, she realised it's much less work compared to shaking her to sleep. Also my hubby gave the example of grandmother letting Ruthie watch the TV if she pesters her next time instead of doing her homework. It's the same principle.

We were afraid also that all the crying would make her a unhappy and grouchy kid. Thank God that's not the case. It's still early to tell but I guess it's making her more independent. Since the crying to sleep, she doesn't cry when she wakes up now and she's able to fall back to sleep herself at times if she wakes up half way. We can still make her laugh. She's laughing and talking louder now. But whenever she laughs she gets hiccups. It's great joy seeing her laugh and smile. Thank God. :)

The grabber II

She's growing fast with each day. From grabbing pacifier to shirt, from pillows to bolsters, now she starts grabbing my nipple and armpit. She likes to grab whenever she's feeding and the feeding position is such that her hand is free to roam anywhere under my armpit. This makes me vulnerable because her hand will start to roam and start wriggling my armpit. As i'm wearing singlet at home most of the time and she will start pulling my hair. Disgusting. What's worst, after feeding, i'll leave her on her own so i can clean the bottle, the next moment i return, her hand which wriggle and roam under my arm will be in her mouth..Ewww...

The grabber

Reading

Playing
This is the stage where baby grabs every and any thing and puts it in her mouth. Prior to this she starting sucking her finger and if she's hungry she'll put her entire fist in her mouth. So we did away with the mittens, partly because of hygeine and partly to promote her gross motor development. One less thing to wash. Some people tell us that we should never give the kid a pacifier, others say sucking the fingers will disfigure them, our PD told us that I shouldn't let the baby suck for comfort as it's a bad habit and that we should give the pacifier. Who are we to listen? And what would baby do to get some comfort to help her fall asleep? I figured we give her all the soothing methods in moderation so that she won't get used to one. In the day, my mother in law will give her the pacifier and sarong if it's difficult to get her to sleep as it's the fastest way to comfort a kid and she has other house chores to do. At night and during the weekends, hubby and I will take turns petting and cradling her to sleep, at the same time holding her arm down to prevent her from sucking her fingers. Since she starting grabbing , she has been pulling out her pacifier out of her mouth at times, grabbing and pulling my shirt while nursing, grabbing the side of her blanket while sleeping and pulling her shirt up. Shame shame.

Leaving soon

" I love Mommy"

In a few more days, I'll be returning to work. Time really flies. It seems like I was just pregnant yesterday. Sometimes hubby and I would tell each other that we can't believe we're already parents. Doesn't feel like we are a daddy and mommy.
Maternity leave was mostly enjoyable except the first month where my stitches became worse instead of better and my admission to CDC for a drug allergy, on top of all the breast feeding problems and the blues.. I'm glad I persisted with the breast feeding:) This was the time that I've done the most shopping as well:P. Usually I would buy a piece of clothing once a month or every other month. And I would go to 5 different shops to compare prices and see if i can get a similar design at a cheaper price. Now, I just grab and go, but of course still minding the price. It's quite therapeutic doing so. I've never bought soo many pieces of clothing in 2 months, but also I've grown a size bigger and need to buy more working clothes. Excuses:). Also I feel I deserve it after bearing child for 9 months, all the stretch marks, aches, tiredness, out of shape body and of course caring for baby.

Some days, I think to myself that I could stay at home and mind the child for the rest of my life. Other days I think I might go crazy doing so. Research has shown that part time working mothers have psychologically and emotionally healtier children, and it doesn't take a genius to explain why. Most of us at my clinic would also recommend a mother who is stressed out with the children to go and find work or get a hobby. Seems it's the fastest and effective way instead of going through all the counselling.

Any how, it's been a blessing and joy to see baby's "firsts" and to think that I'll be missing that in future leaves me with some guilt and discontentment. Baby's first smile, first laugh, first time she could grap her toy, turn her head while lying on her tummy etc. Mommy will miss you baby.

Enriched experience

Baby in church

On Good Friday, we went for morning service at our church, expecting to be ministered to and to worship God on this special occasion. But it was far from our expectations. As Ruthie grows, she is becoming more curious about the world around her, at times soo curious that she forgets her hungry and sleepiness, becoming grouchy there after. Usually during the worship portion of service, we would put her to sleep so that she won't cry and disrupt the service. On Good Friday, she didn't fall asleep during worship, got irritated and started crying. Probably the lighting at the area that we were sitting at was too glaring. Or probably she knew it was a different church( G2) from our usual one ( G1) and that kept curious george awake.
Ever since we had Ruthie naturally we had to sit at the cry corner during the service. Initally, I was wondering how parents can really listen and absorb the preaching or experience God's presence during the service with a child next to them, who can be totally unpredictable. You see parents walking in and out of the service maybe because the kid is crying or he needs to nurse or needs a diaper change etc. It was definitely difficult to experience God like before since we had Ruthie. But it's not impossible to put aside the fear of her unpredictablity and her as a distraction and just to worship God. Needs some adjustment.
Any way, during the Good Friday service we ended up outside the sanctuary for most of the preaching and met our cell member with her kid outside as well. And we ended up conversing until Ruthie slept. At the end of the service while waiting for the crowd to disperse, we met with Senior Pastor and his wife who were on their way out and of course started talking about baby. He commented that when 2 people get together in a marriage it takes some adjustment but when you have a kid it changes your entire life. But it also enriches it so much more. And of course we totally agree.
Ruthie has taught as so much about patience, about sacrifice and how to love admist frustration, how to put yourself and your needs at the back of the line and just care and love another being. In marriage you get some of that but the difference is your spouse can reciprocate that.So it is not so tiring or frustrating. And of course there's verbal communication which makes things so much easier. For a baby this age, all they care about is whether their own practical needs are met. Ruthie has also taught us selflessness in our marriage. The need to support and love our spouse more, to work as a team instead of bickering over minor issues which we might have when we were childless. With lesser with one another, we also learn to cherish whatever time we have with one another. And of course a strong martial system is the back bone of the family.
We love children that's why we decided to conceive after one year of marriage but we never realise it would be the most trying experience of our lives. But after 3 months, we are much more adjusted and enjoying experiences with baby more and learning from trying ones. If not we would have left her in a basket and let it float down down Singapore river :P.

Amusing Moments

It's been getting harder to put baby to sleep in the day. Walking around the house for 15mins puts her to sleep, but it causes a headache going round in circles. Yesterday after her morning feed, she looked at the ceiling fan and gradually her eyes closed. So that's what I have been doing today. After her feed, I'll walk on the spot while she looks at the fan. It takes about 5 mins before her eyes close. Hyponotising effect.

She has been cooing and making more sounds now. The other day while inclined on daddy's lap, daddy was talking to me about something and sighed. One second later, baby sighed as well. Both of us laughed.
We always say that being inclined on our laps helps her shit or pass gas easier. And she always makes the "MMmmm" sound while trying to do so. The other day while on daddy's lap, daddy was trying to help her shit by making the "MMmm" sound. A second later she did the same. Both of us laughed. Cute moments.

Soothing methods

We have been trying to hold the pacifier in baby's mouth whenever she needs comfort, however, it doesn't stay long and we end up giving in and let her suckle on mummy's breast. Today, I tried again and she managed to hold it in longer than usual. And I thought she finally got used to it. But after 1 hour of holding the pacifier in her mouth while rocking her, I gave in. Got to train baby if not Ah-ma will have a hard time looking after her when I go back to work.

Baby's schedule

After many sleepless nights, we realise what was keeping Ruthie awake at night. No longer will she open her eyes wide or smile at you at 3am. No longer will we feel like throwing her out of the window after 12am. We realised that she was sleeping too much during the day. Our preconceived idea, from our parents, was that babies this age were to eat and sleep, eat and sleep. That was what I was trying to do in the day, to put her to sleep so that I could have my own time, do the housework, prepare meals. Little did I realise that I was sabotaging myself and my poor hubby who has to work the next day.

When we heard that our friend's 2 month old baby didn't sleep in the day at all but slept very well at night, we figured that must be it. For the last 3 days, Ruthie has slept from 10pm to 10am, with feeds every 4hours. And in the day she sleeps about 3 hours but it's a very light sleep cause any noise will startle her. However, my headache now is entertaining her throughout the day, if not she'll get bored and start making noise. There are times when she can be left alone to play by herself, however the duration is short. And in between is when i can run off to fix lunch, wash the dishes etc. Toys and rattles are not amusing to her. She doesn't even take a 2nd glance at them. She would rather people talk to her and play with her. Get very thirsty doing that. I told my hubby that and he commented "That's why she's a girl"- implying girls need communication with people. Today i had to put her in front of the hanging area while I talked to her and while she watches me hang the laundry.

Despite the daytime rush, it is much better than her staying awake from 12am to 6am. Much better for me as I'm the sort who needs to sleep only on my bed, in the dark and when the surrounding is quiet. And of course much better for the hubby. Pray that she will stick to this routine and reduce her night feeds as well.

Her First Vice

After many sleepless nights, we finally introduce Ruth to her new Toy, a "yao lan".. We have been resisting the use of it because we thought Ruth is still young and the neck is still not firm and she might get hook to it. But little did we know that the both of us slept in one of those just 4 weeks into birth and we are still fine. So we finally gave in. Here you go, Ruth new vice.

Cranky nights

Ruth is having problem sleeping again. Looked through the web for zantac medicine that was given and realise it is a common drug used for treating acid reflux. Hope it will help my Ruth.

Bought a Braun themometer at 126 bucks. Can use for 2 more kids in the future.

3 March
Thank God for a good night rest though cranky just before midnight. I realised i have to hug and cuddle her close to my body such that her stomach is lightly pressed, then she will fall asleep Ruth is good and she slept well without kicking up a fuss. She woke up just for food last nigh. Pray hard that Ruth will overcome her stomach problem.

First Baby Post. First Injection

It has been 2 months since Ruth was botn, and this is my first post of her development.

Seeing how my parents and sharon's parent forget about how we grow and how cranky we can get, i decided to start posting on Ruth's development here so we can keep monitor her growth and tell her when she grow up or even when she needs advise from us when she has her own children.

So today 1 March 2010 marks the beginning of her 3rd month of growth. She slept pretty well last night although for the 3 nights before yesterday she slept only at 4am.

We thought it was teething initially and this got Ruth's grandparent puzzled and excited. However, it was not, the white stuff on her gum was actually residue of undeveloped cell which will go off in a while. And her crankiness for the 3 late nights? Doctor Oh says it was tummy problem.. Too much wind.

She has her first jab today and all was good so far. She yell for a while when she was injected but quieten down after some nice cuddling and swinging.

She weighs 4.84 kg and 58cm long.
